Assisting the Agricultural Community:


     The JSWCD provides technical assistance to county landowners through the engineering of conservation projects, soils investigations, drainage problem investigations, grazing and crop management plans, and the investigation of agricultural/non-point source pollution complaints.

 

     Technical assistance programs available through the Natural Resources Conservation Service with technical assistance provided by the JSWCD include:

  •  Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program

  •  Statewide Environmental Quality Incentives Program
  •  Wetlands Reserve Program
  •  Forestry EQIP

     These programs help to encourage conservation practices such as: 

  • spring developments

  • access roads

  • contour strips
  • fencing
  • livestock use area protection
  • and many more related practices
